What Happens After My Daniel Alain Consultation?

In our consultations, our goal is to help you feel empowered and proud of yourself for taking the first step toward reclaiming yourself and taking control over your hair loss. Navigating the world of wig buying alone can be intimidating. With Daniel Alain, you won’t be alone on this journey.
Following a consultation, you may be wondering what to do next.
In this article, we’ll go through your next steps after meeting with your consultant to help you get closer to owning your dream hair. We’ve broken the article up into general steps to take following a consultation as well as what to do specifically after a virtual consultation.
What Should I Do After an In-Person Daniel Alain Consultation?
If you made a purchase…
Congratulations! We’re so excited for you to get your Daniel Alain wig. If you placed an order, your consultant will update you if there are any delays. When your piece arrives to us, we will style it how you want. Make sure to tell your consultant if you’d like it styled any specific way.
If you need time to think…
The most important thing to do is ask questions. We want to answer your questions to help you feel good about any decision you make, whether that means making a purchase or not.
We highly recommend reading more about how to care for a human hair wig. A human hair wig is an investment and also requires upkeep. Before you commit, we want to make sure that you understand the level of care required to maintain a human hair wig.
Human hair wigs aren’t for everybody. And that’s okay. We want you to make the decision that is best for you.
What To Do Following a Virtual Consultation
1. Take measurements and send them to your consultant.
Ideally, during a virtual consultation, you were able to take measurements with your consultant. If you didn’t, that’s okay! Go ahead take your measurements as soon as possible and send them to your consultant. This will give her time to put your kit together and ship it out as soon as possible.
2. Once you receive your fit kit, set up a follow-up appointment with your consultant.
Before your appointment, it’s critical to take some time to get familiar with the contents of your fit kit. Look at the color swatches you received in different lights to get a feel for how the hair will look in different environments. Compare the lengths to see where you want your hair to fall.
3a. If you received a wig fit kit...
We recommend wearing the caps for a couple of hours to make sure it is as comfortable as possible. Ask yourself: is this cap too tight or too loose? After a while, does my head hurt, or do I feel like the cap is slipping?
3b. If you received a topper fit kit...
Place the topper base piece over the area of hair loss. Make sure it provides sufficient coverage. If you have enough hair to secure the piece, note how the clips feel.
Once you’ve gotten familiar with your fit kit, hop on the call with your consultant to ask questions and get her professional opinion. This is the time to ask if a cap looks like it fits well or if you’ve missed something.
Why Connecting with Your Consultant Is Essential
One of the most important steps to take after your consultation, whether virtual or in-person, is connecting with your consultant. She will be with you through every step of this process and answer any questions you may have. You aren’t on this journey alone. Your Daniel Alain consultant can answer questions, offer advice or opinions, or provide you with the resources you need to inform your decision.
One of the things that set Daniel Alain apart is the genuine care that our consultants have for you. That starts with building trust and listening to your story and getting to know what you want. Our consultants all have a background in hair styling. One of our consultants, Janet, went to beauty school but never thought much about hair loss.
Entering the world of wig buying and learning about women’s hair loss strengthened her desire to help women find their dream hair. “It’s a rewarding feeling. You’re giving them themselves back. You’re restoring confidence, pushing away insecurity, and helping them feel pretty on a whole other level.”
Janet recently had a customer make a purchase. She connected with Janet a year prior. The customer wasn’t sure if she was ready and went back and forth, contacting Janet with questions and concerns. A year later, the customer was ready to purchase her dream hair and hasn’t looked back since.
