Are you suffering from hair loss and don’t know where to turn for solutions?

Do you panic at finding more and more tangled strands in your hair brush every time you brush your hair?

Do you dread hair-washing day because you know you’ll find even more hair clogging the shower drain?

Are you closely scrutinizing your head in the mirror to assess your increasingly visible scalp?

We know hair loss can be traumatic. We understand the fear that comes from running your fingers through your hair and for it to feel noticeably finer. We know about the gut-wrenching panic that ensues from finding your hair lose density and your ponytail becoming thinner and thinner.

At Daniel Alain, we believe human hair wigs are a great way to deal with these concerns. They remove the shame that often comes with the need to hide hair loss, and they are a beautiful, natural-looking alternative to thinning hair or bald patches. We’ve spent over 20 years helping women regain their confidence through wearing our human hair wigs, and we have something for everyone.

We believe in helping women find their perfect match in a wig. Here at Daniel Alain, nothing less than perfect is good enough. We have a range of styles, and we often find our customers need help choosing between them.

Barb Betts has been wearing our wigs for almost two years, so what better person to learn from than someone with first-hand, real-life experience of wearing wigs daily? If you’re trying to choose between two of our most popular styles, the René and Style wig collections from Follea by Daniel Alain, we hope that reading someone else’s perspective will assist you in your decision-making. We aim to make the wig-buying process as easy on you as possible.

Finding human hair Follea wigs by Daniel Alain

Barb spent years using root powder to conceal her increasingly visible scalp. Suffering from hair loss caused by an autoimmune disease in addition to androgenetic alopecia, she became desperate to find a solution when the root powder was no longer enough.

“I think I began to lose my sense of self,” recalls Barb. “I began to feel insecure and embarrassed about my hair loss.”

Barb tried PRP therapy (an intrusive, painful, and expensive treatment which involves injecting the patient with their own platelets to stimulate hair growth) which was ultimately and disappointingly unsuccessful. Next, she consulted a surgeon about a hair transplant but with no guarantees it would work, Barb started to explore wearing hair.

She booked an appointment for a consultation at Daniel Alain, initially looking for a human hair topper that she hoped would cover her hair loss. But after being advised she wasn’t a good candidate for a hair topper because of the extent and location of her hair loss, Barb found herself choosing a human hair wig instead.

“It’s hard to admit that your hair loss is that bad and that you need to take this next step,” concedes Barb. “But you have to be willing to see how you might feel when you come out the other side.”

Why I chose my human hair Style Wig from Follea by Daniel Alain

At Daniel Alain, we make and sell only human hair wigs. Our Style wig collection is made from 100% European hair that is smooth, sleek, and less dense than other hair types. The hair texture is what initially drew Barb to the Style wig collection.

“I chose the Style as my first investment because of the high-quality European hair. It’s so beautiful and it’s exactly what I wished my bio hair would look like,” she explains.

Another feature of the Style wigs is that they have a skin top, meaning the wig looks like a real scalp wherever you part them. “It actually mimics what a real scalp looks like!” Barb exclaims.

The Style wigs are 100% hand-tied which means that every hair is tied to the wig cap two hairs at a time. The hair looks like a real head of hair and moves in the most natural way possible. A hand-tied wig is extremely versatile and can be worn in multiple ways, even high ponytails, and still look completely natural.

“It was important to me to have a very natural looking piece and I felt like the Style wig looked the most natural on me,” says Barb.

Why I chose my human hair René wig from Follea by Daniel Alain

Our René wigs use a blend of Chinese and Indian hair that is thicker and coarser than European hair. As a result, René wigs have more texture and volume than the Style wig and will hold a style and curl better than European hair.

“I wanted something that had a little more bounce and volume to it,” Barb explains. “I like to have options, so I bought my René [wig] as a second piece.”

The René wig features a hand-tied top, but unlike the Style wig, it has machine-wefted sides. The hair is sewn into strips and then sewn to the wig cap in flat lines. Although this method will present styling limitations as all the hair is laying in one direction, it is possible to create different looks with a René. We recommend a minimum of 12” length if you want to try ponytails and other updos.

“My René is 10” in length and because it's wefted on the sides, I can't put it up into a high ponytail or a high bun,” says Barb. “I love wearing my René straight or curly and parted to the side.”

One big difference between the Style and René is that the René features a lace top. A lace top won’t look like a real scalp like the skin top, but you have to be really up close to notice.

“The René is great for affordability. I bought mine as a second option to wear when I needed it or felt like a change. It’s also a great price point for people who are new to wearing human hair wigs and are just starting to feel their way around,” Barb explains.

Ready to explore human hair wigs for yourself?

You might be worried that finding the right wig is a time-consuming and stressful task that offers no guarantees you’ll end up with your dream hair. Barb certainly had no expectations of finding the perfect wig, and she had heard too many stories of other women buying wigs only for them to permanently end up in the back of a closet never to be worn.

We know that reading reviews from real-life customers is a valuable exercise when purchasing almost anything. At Daniel Alain, we share the reviews we receive of all our products. We aim to make the wig-buying process as easy and successful as possible. Our number one priority is your satisfaction with your new piece. After all, if a wig isn’t right for you, we know you won’t wear it.

Reading first-hand experiences like Barb’s and checking out what other people have to say about the Style wig collection and the René wig collection will be useful as you narrow down your options.

If you’re interested in Follea human hair wigs and are wondering which collection is best for you, speaking with one of our expert consultants is a great way to take your first steps toward your dream hair.
