Looking for a fun new way to style your wig this spring?

Whether you're getting ready for brunch, a weekend stroll, or just want something fresh and pretty, this easy look is perfect for the season.

In this tutorial, Ashley, a stylist and consultant at Daniel Alain, shows us how to style the 16-inch Rene wig in the color Cinnamon into a soft, spring-inspired look using a few simple tools and techniques.

Ashley walks us through creating this look and adding volume and movement, all while keeping the style secure and natural-looking. It’s a quick, gentle way to style your wig without overstyling, and it works especially well for wefted wigs like the René from Follea by Daniel Alain.

How to Style Your Wig

Section face-framing tendrils: Use your fingers or a comb to select a few pieces to leave loose around your face. Clip them aside to keep them out of the way.

Gather the top section: Take the top half of the wig’s hair and pull it back into a loose half-up style.

Secure with an elastic: Use a small, clear or colored elastic. For added hold, double up on the elastics.

Flip the section: Create a space in the hair above the elastic and flip the end of the ponytail through the space, to create a twisted look.

Add volume: Gently tug at the crown of the hair to loosen and lift the section, creating soft volume without teasing.

Curl the hair: Wrap sections of hair away from your face, leaving the ends out for a more relaxed, natural wave. In the back, feel free to alternate directions for added movement.

Style the front pieces: Soften the bangs or face-framing tendrils with a curling iron. Ashley likes to keep them light and playful.

Tame the sides: Use your fingers or a small brush to style any wispy hairs around the ears, keeping the overall look soft and intentional.

You can stop here, or you can add the following steps to create the look in the photos.

Gather the next section: Take the next section of hair and pull it back into an elastic. Again flip the end of the hair through a space above the elastic.

Finish the style: Gather the remaining loose hair into a final ponytail to complete the look.
